It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And it’s time for my favorite Christmas Movie Talk, the John Lewis 2016 Christmas Commercial. If you’ve never seen it, take a minute. You won’t regret it! I dare you not to smile as you watch it.
With my Spanish 1 little darlings, we focus on the structures corre, salta, quiere dormir, quiere jugar and se divierte. We Movie Talk, Write and Discuss, play The Lucky Reading Game with an extended reading and review with Siéntate. And if you’re looking for some easy lesson plans for a hectic time of the year, I’ve got you covered! Over at The Chase Place, I’ve got a bundle of 5 days of lesson plans with everything you need to comprehensify this adorable Christmas Commercial! AND…since Teachers Pay Teachers is doing a Cyber Monday/Tuesday sale, you can get it for 20% off with the code CYBER19.
I hope that in the mist of a crazy and busy time you get a few moments to slow down and enjoy the season. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
LOVE this! Thank you!

Morning – I am looking through your daily outline, and you repeated day 2 on day 3 as far as the story asking goes. Wondering what you do different with part 2?

Hi Bethany,
On day 2, we do the first part of the story, and I pause it before morning. I don’t let them see the rest of the video. On Day 3, we review part 1, then finish movie talking part 2, which they haven’t seen. Please holler with any other questions!!

I’m curious about how you focus on the verbs you listed. I do stories in a similar way and try to focus (get lots of reps in) on high frequency verbs. However, the PQA I have done in the past does not work at my new school. It’s a tough group and answering personalized questions and trying to have a conversation is a management nightmare. I do the TPR to the new words, but I’m looking for other ways to gets reps in prior to reading or staring a movie talk. What have you done to get reps i prior to reading/movie talk?
